What is a music nexus?
A connection or relationship between the registrant and the music
community/industry through their legal name, established and
understood music brand, company name through trademark or
government issued documentation, and music connections that can
be documented or verified.
How do I prove I have a music nexus to the domain
name?
You attest that you have a legal nexus to the string you wish to
register. The .MUSIC Registry with its verification partners will
review the nexus qualifications regularly every year the domain
name is registered.
How does the Registry determine my nexus
qualification?
The .music Registry in partnership
with its verification partners have developed a Music Artificial
Intelligence platform, which notifies the Registry of potential
violations. Manual followup may be executed before locking or
revoking actions are applied.

First come, first served | $51.00 | The community phase is an opportunity for Music Community Member Organization (MCMO) members or corporations with registered trademarks to apply for domain names they have a nexus to before .MUSIC is open to the public. The complete list of MCMO partners are located at the Music Consortium website (TBA). To become an .MUSIC MCMO and provide your members early access to register their .MUSIC domain names, please visit the Music Consortium website (TBA). If there is contention between multiple applicants, the Registry with its verification partners will require additional information and documentation from the applicants to determine who has a more legitimate claim to the domain name. If two or more applicants have a significant claim for the same domain name, an private auction between the significant claimants will be used to settle the conflict. The winner of the auction will be given a registration token to be taken to their domain registrar of choice to obtain the respective .MUSIC domain name |
