.new has 2 requirements: 1) HTTPS is required for all .new websites and 2) all .new domains (with the exception of domains registered during Sunrise) must be used for action generation or online content creation flows.

HTTPS Requirement

• .new is a secure namespace, meaning that HTTPS is required for all .new websites. You can register your .new domain name now, but in order for it to work properly in browsers you must first configure HTTPS serving. To ensure your .new domain is compliant with this HTTPS requirement, SSL certificates are available for purchase through the Lexsynergy client control panel.

Usage Restriction (does not apply to Sunrise applications)

• .new is a restricted domain space in which all domains must be used for action generation or online content creation flows.
• Domain names that do not comply with this requirement may be placed on server hold or deleted for non-compliance
• .new domains must be active within 100 days from the registration date

Policy and Enforcement
Navigation to a .new domain must bring a user directly into the action generation or online creation flow. An exception is provided for services that require a user to be logged in: navigation to a .new domain may bring a logged-out user to a sign up or sign in page. After completing sign in and any other required authentication, the user must be brought directly into the action generation or online creation flow. A user that is already signed in must be brought immediately into the action flow.

Websites services that require an account in order to access content or undertake activities may register .new domain names, however, upon request access must be provided to Google Registry or its designee free-of-charge for the purpose of verifying compliance with this policy. Google Registry will actively enforce compliance. Non-compliant registrants will be notified by the Registry using the Registrars’ pass-through communication method. Should the first notice go unanswered for 15 days, the Registry will place the non-compliant name under server lock and send a second notice. If following further notices (for a minimum of 30 days total notice) no action is taken, the domain will be deleted. Remediation instructions will be provided to the registrants in the notice emails.
