We recently received the above letter from IOPTS(International Organization for Patent & TradeMark Service,LLC). The letter is intended to create the impression that a filingfee or some trade mark related fee is outstanding.

We did some digging around and found a WIPO web page that warns ofsimilar scams. Other sites mentioning IP scams include:

We would like to know what the IP community (WIPO and other IPoffices around the world) is doing to prevent such scams or whataction is taken once a fraud is identified?
