The contract to run the .cd ccTLD registry has been cancelled by the Société Congolaise des Postes et Télécommunications (SCPT). According to a government announcement the SCPT, who had awarded the registry contract for Congo’s country code top-level domain, have cancelled it due to irregularities in the management of the registry.
SCPT have already transferred the .cd registry servers to the control of SCPT and are close to finishing the configuration of the new web interface for customers to manage their .cd domains.
For registrants, SCPT will send login credentials as soon as they’re ready. In this transition, SCPT note no domain names will be suspended, even if they reach their expiry date.
SCPT also ask for registrants to ignore messages from CONIC, Webnet Africa and Mikuba (all part of the same company) as their database was disconnected from the .cd registry on 10 August 2017.
