The .gay domain extension officially launched on 10 February 2020. This new extension launches with a traditional Sunrise phase for trade mark owners who have their mark validated with the TMCH. The Sunrise phase will run until 31 March 2020. The launch will then move into a Sunrise II phase which is open to trade mark owners who own a mark within one of the following: WIPO, USPTO, UKIPO, OHIM -EUIPO. During the Sunrise II phase, the mark does not have to be validated with the TMCH. The registry will perform its own validation of the mark prior to approving the registration. This Sunrise II phase will run from 6 April 2020 to 6 May 2020. Registrations will be open to everyone on a first-come, first-served basis beginning 11 May 2020.
