Thailand Registry Opens Up Second Round For .TH

TH NIC, the registry that manages Thailand’s ccTLDs, has announced the dates for the second round of domain registrations directly under .TH. The launch schedule is:

Applications Accepted: 1 June 2021 – 31 July 2021
Announcement of Qualified Applications: 2 August 2021
Domain Name Consideration Process: 2 August 2021 – 9 August 2021
Announcement of Approved Applications: 9 August 2021

Registrations are limited to Thai citizens, Thai organizations and businesses, and foreign organizations that own a Thai trademark. These eligible parties may only register domains that match their organization name, personal name, or trademark or are identical to an existing domain registered under CO.TH, AC.TH or OR.TH).

If more than one application is received for the same domain it will be allocated based on these priority levels:

1. Trademark registered in Thailand
2. Foreign trademark with a local presence in Thailand
3.  Identical domain under a second-level TLD (CO.TH, AC.TH or OR.TH).
4. All organizations according to Thai law and Thai citizens who are not included in the above categories.
