The ccTLD .cm will be open for registration to the general public from 1 August 2009. Registrations will operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis at a cost of £75 per year.
As mentioned in our previous release .cm may become a target for cybersquatters and typosquatters due to “cm” being a common misspelling of “com”.
It is also a misspelling of “cn” (China), the largest ccTLD in the world, since the letter ‘m’ and ‘n’ are next to one another on the keyboard.
We would advise trade mark holders to register defensive domain names in order to avoid potential infringements.
In order to place your registrations on our queuing system, or if you have any queries please email [email protected].
