These include a robust infrastructure, proactive monitoring of cyber threats through our Security Operations Center, PTSOC, compliance with international security standards, and ongoing efforts to educate registrars and users about best practices in cybersecurity.
Could you elaborate on .PT’s partnership with the Portuguese Police to combat cybercrime?
.PT and PSP (Public Security Police) have signed a cooperation protocol to enhance national cybersecurity capabilities, and work together in preventing and fighting cybercrime. This protocol facilitates the exchange of knowledge and the mutual development of capabilities in this critical area. The collaboration encompasses various aspects, including strategic development in combating cybercrime, training and qualification of human resources, and the creation of specific tools to support investigations and joint operations. Additionally, we also collaborate with the criminal investigation police, Polícia Judiciária.

How does .PT promote inclusivity and digital skills within Portugal?
.PT believes that no one should be left behind in this digital transformation. Therefore, we are actively involved in promoting digital literacy and inclusion through various initiatives. These include support to initiatives such as Sitestar.pt, Apps for Good, ENSICO, RE_B00TCMP, Eu Sou Digital, Engenheiras Por um Dia, EU Kids Online and many others, focusing on the development of digital skills.
.PT is also responsible for the Ponto Digital - Digital Skills and Jobs platform – www.pontodigital.pt, where you can find training, studies, resources, job offers, events and news in the digital area. Ponto Digital connects Portugal to Europe via an API with the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform.
These programs aim to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all society have the opportunity to acquire essential digital skills.
What are some notable brands or companies currently using .pt as their main domain in Portugal or internationally?
We would inevitably leave out important companies if we were to name just a few. However, in Portugal, the .PT domain is truly synonymous of trust, and the vast majority of Portuguese companies, from the largest to the smallest, have a .PT domain. Most Portuguese businesses prefer .PT as their primary domain because it establishes a reliable and authoritative online presence in the market. This widespread adoption highlights the importance of the .PT domain in enhancing a company’s reputation among local consumers.
How does .PT collaborate with international organizations to support the digital ecosystem?
.PT actively collaborates with international organizations such as CENTR, ICANN, and IGF to contribute to the development of internet governance policies and best practices.
We also engage with ccTLDs of other Portuguese-speaking countries, through LusNIC - Association of registries of Portuguese-speaking countries, to promote the Portuguese language online and address shared challenges.

What are your thoughts on our One Domain, One Tree initiative and do you have any plans to introduce or expand sustainable practices within your own business model?
Sustainability is a fundamental principle guiding .PT's operations. We recognize the crucial role of environmental responsibility, not just in our financial practices, but also in the broader context of the digital ecosystem. Your "One Domain, One Tree" initiative is a great example of how organizations can contribute positively to environmental sustainability.
.PT also wants to be part of the conversation about the impact that technology and emerging technologies have on the planet. We are actively exploring ways to integrate sustainable practices into our business model, and we are open to collaborating on initiatives that promote a greener digital future. .PT was the first entity in Portugal to be recognized with two Digital Maturity Seals, namely Cybersecurity - Gold Level and Sustainability - Silver Level.

What are your goals for the future of the .PT namespace, and how do you see it evolving in the next decade?
.PT is focused on a core mission of providing excellent domain registration services while also addressing the broader challenges and opportunities of the digital world. This includes a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, promoting digital inclusion and literacy, and contributing to Portugal's digital transformation. As we continue to evolve, a key aspect to strengthen our position as a data-driven organization. We are fostering data literacy internally, making data insights central to our decision-making process, and further developing a specialized analytics service. We see ourselves as a key player in the Portuguese digital ecosystem, fostering innovation, collaboration, and international partnerships to achieve these goals. Our vision is to promote a free, secure, and accessible internet for all, reflecting Portugal's identity on the global digital ecosystem.
What future projects are planned to further connect Portugal with the global digital community?
"Observatório para o Digital" (Digital Observatory), for example, is a key project aimed at consolidating and expanding .PT's role in the digital ecosystem. This platform will provide data-driven insights and analysis to inform policy decisions and promote Portugal's digital advancement on a global scale. It is something we are currently working on.
